Dog-Friendly Beach Cottages Around Cornwall

Our dog-friendly cottages are spread across the Cornish coast, so you can choose a location that suits the type of holiday you have planned. Staying within walking distance of the coast can be particularly handy for morning and evening dog walks, while a cottage with an enclosed garden may be more important if you are travelling with an active dog.

The number of dogs accepted varies between properties, as do pet charges and rules about where dogs are allowed inside. Check the individual cottage details before booking, particularly if you are bringing more than one dog.

Cornwall’s Dog-Friendly Beaches and Coastal Walks

Cornwall has beaches where dogs are welcome throughout the year, alongside others that operate seasonal or daytime restrictions. Harlyn Bay near Padstow, Watergate Bay near Newquay and Trebarwith Strand near Tintagel are among the beaches where dogs can be taken throughout the year.

If beach access is an important part of your holiday, our guide to the best dog-friendly beaches in Cornwall covers more places to visit and the restrictions to check before you go.

The South West Coast Path provides plenty of alternatives to the beach, with walks around headlands, harbours and coastal villages throughout Cornwall. Dogs should be kept under close control around livestock, cliff edges and areas used by nesting birds.

Dog-Friendly Stays in Newquay, St Ives and Bude

For a north coast stay, our dog-friendly cottages in Newquay put you close to a large choice of beaches and coastal walks. Watergate Bay is just north of the town, while several beaches around Newquay have different seasonal dog rules.

Further west, St Ives dog-friendly cottages provide access to St Ives Bay and the coast towards Zennor and Hayle. Some of the town’s main beaches restrict dogs during daytime hours in the main season, but other beaches and coastal walks provide alternatives.

You can also browse our Bude dog-friendly cottages for stays on Cornwall’s north coast close to the Devon border. Bude has several beaches and easy access to the South West Coast Path, with walks running north towards Morwenstow and south towards Widemouth Bay.
